“I love my AHEAD 2B drumsticks. I always use the AHEAD Grip Tape, and the grip is so comfortable. I never have any issue with slippery drumsticks and the size and weight are perfect for most gigs. When I need that extra punch to rock even harder, I grab a pair of Tommy Lee Signature drumsticks. They’re a bit longer to give me more reach and they weigh differently so I get a lot more power.”
Justin Lack can be found behind the kit, pounding the drums into submission for LA's heavy metal powerhouse Enrot, playing percussion and singing lead for the children's rock duo Birthday Party, and drumming for countless other bands at venues all around Los Angeles. He has toured Europe with The Graham Bonnet Band and the US with the late Matt Ryd and Fashion Bomb. Justin has played nearly every venue in Chicago and LA including The Whiskey-A-Go-Go, The Roxy and The Viper Room.
In Chicago Justin was in charge of both the drum and band programs at The Rock House Music School. In addition to his drumming duties with a plethora of bands, Justin has taught at a number of music schools since moving to LA. He has given assemblies at schools entertaining and educating up to 200 3rd-5th graders. He volunteers his time as a teacher and performer whenever possible for different charities around LA, namely helping teach with CommunicateME and auctioning parties and lessons benefiting schools around Los Angeles.
In 2011 Justin self published and produced an instructional drum book and DVD called "All Beat Up A Drum-Torial". The book takes students who have never played before and teaches them to read music, play by ear and gain the ability and confidence to jam with other musicians as quickly as possible. He is currently accepting students for lessons in drums, guitar, bass, piano and vocals and has student bands forming as well.
